Classes have started--I am taking a 300 level Spanish class and a sports and culture class--and they are moving quick. I guess with only six weeks we have to cover lots of material in a short time, but it seems too soon to already have to be studying for quizzes and tests. My sports class is actually pretty interesting. We are looking at how sports affects society (politics, family, economy, education, religion and media) here in Spain and vice-versa. It's almost a sociology class. Anyway, I have class Monday through Thursday from 1:00-4:45, so that kinda cuts down on the time I have to go do tourist things. Next week I'm going to start getting up early (and not going out every night. . . sorry Mom) and seeing more of the sights before class. That means I should have more interesting updates coming soon. This weekend the program has a scheduled trip up to the Costa Brava in northern Spain for three days. It should be pretty cool, and I will of course take pictures (hopefully with me in them) and let you all know exactly where we were what we saw.
Observation of the day: Blind people
Maybe it's just because I'm in a big city with lots of people so I notice it more than I do in Bloomington or St. Charles, but there are tons of blind people here. I have seen at least one every day I've been downtown on the big plazas, and they have all been different. It is just like the states in that most have dogs, but some were walking either with sticks or family/friends nearby. I don't really know if I can draw any interesting conclusions from this observation, just thought I'd let you know.

That sport and culture class sounds very interesting! Have you run with the bulls yet or played futbol with the national team to prepare them for the World Cup? Viva Espana! I am glad you are observing all the blind people though, I just wish they could see how much you notice them...ha! Pun intended!
